After, graduation from High School, Jim spent a year at Sacramento’s Campus of  Wyo-Tech to improve his mechanical knowledge and earn his college degree.  Jim is a current employee of UPS as a Class A driver.  Currently residing in Moreno Valley and in his spare time enjoys spending time at the river.


Jim has built and maintained his own race cars since the beginning of his career. He continues to be the primary driver and the lead mechanic. Every year Jim continues to make extreme improvement on the track, proving his phenomenal driving talent.


The 2007 season was exciting with the acquisition of a “Lucas Oil Modified”. The 2007 year Mardis racing included both the Modified Series as well as the Stock Pony series. The season ended early in the modified series for this team due to the destruction of the vehicle during a race.


2008 Mardis Racing acquired a new STR racing chassis and built a New modified. We spent this season testing and setting up the car. We were able to compete in 3 of the series races this year and accomplished 2 top 5 finishes and Hard Charger Award.


2009 season is the first full season of competition. This 3 man crew has managed extreme success with the capture of Jim’s 1st Modified Series win on September 25th  2009. In addition, Jim captured the track record at Orange Show Speedway, Hard Charger Award, 2 Super Clean pass awards, Fast Time Award and a Trophy dash win.


2010 season has yielded a lot of excitement. The season concluded on October 23, 2010 , where Jim was named the 2010 Lucas Oil Modified Champion. We have has 2 wins, and 7 top 5 finishes.  We have earned 2 Clean Pass Awards,  2 Fast time Awards, Hard Charger and have a Trophy dash win.
