SUPERCLEAN MODIFIED SERIES RETURNS TO ACTION APRIL 18TH IN BLYTHE

After an ultra successful season opener, March 28th in Lake Havasu City-Arizona, the SuperClean Modified Racing Series will once again hit the race track for round two, April 18th, at the Lucas Oil I 10 Speedway located at the Colorado River Fairgrounds in Blythe-California. A full field of 22 open wheel modifieds will be lining up for 75 full green flag laps on the speedway's always challenging quarter mile, D shaped, oval. In addition to looking for the checkers the drivers will also be going after the $1,000 winner's check. The SuperClean Modified Racing Series guarantees a driver at least $250 just for starting the A main. That means qualifying, and the subsequent B Main, can often get just as intense as the 75 lap feature.
Another driver that needs to be watched during this race will be Riverside-California's Jim "Babyface" Mardis. This driver dominated the season opener last month and appeared to be on his way to his first series win. Unfortunately his right rear tire burned up on him during the latter stages of the race and he had to settle for a third place finish. Mardis ran three races late in the 2008 season while developing his new series ride and scored two top five finishes. However, based on his performance in last month's season opener, it appears that Mardis is going to be a force to be reckoned with this year. Full Story

Second in the series' standings, only two points away from the leader, is a win hungry driver named Jim Mardis. His 178 championship points is based on a very consistent three top finishes and one top ten. Mardis was a major player in the series' previous event, at the Orange Show Speedway, and came very close to scoring that first win following a very close finish. There are quite a few series observers who are saying that it's just a short matter of time before this Riverside-California driver parks his car in victory lane. The SuperClean Modified Racing Series spent this past Saturday night at the Havasu 95 Speedway, a quarter mile oval in Lake Havasu City-Arizona, for the running of the Sunoco Fuels 75. For the third time in a highly competitive year the series produced a first time winner. But it really came with no surprise. All season long series observers said it was just a matter of time before Jim Mardis parked his race car in victory lane. He did it in a very big way Saturday night by leading every lap of the race. In fact, Mardis' performance was so dominant he was, at times, practically racing in his own personal zip code
